Flying Dog Brewery – The Fear (2014)

AlexAA: Ruby cola colored w/meringue-like foam & good retention, aroma of cinnamon, molasses & all-spice 8/10

AlexTM: Earthy pumpkin puree spiced w/cloves, all-spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, & ends it w/ a chocolatey chalky finish 8/10

AlexP: Raw, chunky puree adds fresh, vegetal crispness to the sweet molasses & chocolate in a balanced act. 5P

AlexO: While everyone else vies to taste like pumpkin pie, The Fear wins at being a delicious loaf of spicy pumpkin bread. 88/100

NicAA: Rich, dark ruby brew with a thin, bubbly head. Boozy aroma of sweet pumpkin meat, rich and warming fall spice and hints of cocoa and molasses. 9/10

NicTM: Rich, fuller body, medium fizz. Roasty malts, orange zest, brown sugar and pumpkin jostle amongst heavy fall spice, but the bitter malt and hops make this savory more than sweet. 8/10

NicP: A fair amount in the aroma, less in the taste as the complex flavors swirl around it. 3p

NicO: Bittersweet, dark chocolate liqueur of a beer. Almost stout-like, a fireside companion to keep next to your pipe and slippers. 89/100
