Dogfish Head – Punkin Ale (2014)

14 Sep

AlexAA: Deep amber w/ a nice cream foam head, traces of cinnamon and nutmeg complement a thick scent of brown sugar. 8/10

AlexTM: caramelized pumpkin w/ a bad ass edge of allspice that keeps the brown sugar from taking over, and the cinnamon and nutmeg at bay. 9/10

AlexP: Street-wise pumpkin. Holds it’s own against a gang of spicing, and doesn’t lose it’s sweet, chunky meatiness. 5P

AlexO: This punk is an ale with both a sweet & spicy side – one I’d hold hands w/ after arm wrestling. 91/100

NicAA: Crystal clear amber with clingy head. Light nose of nutmeg, sweet brown sugar and pumpkin. 8/10

NicTM: Tasty brown sugar moves forward into light allspice, touch of cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg. The pumpkin peeps through at the end, like a wonderful encore bow. 9/10

NicP: Very nicely highlighted by the light spice choice and the tasty brown sugar. 5p

NicO: This is a goldilocks pumpkin beer. A timeless fall classic that is exactly how a pumpkin ale should taste. No gimmicks, just gourdegous. 90/10
