Kentucky Ale – Pumpkin Barrel Ale (2014)

NicAA: Vanilla and a ton of bourbon aroma leap from deceptively light copper brew. 9/10

NicTM: Some sweet pumpkin front w. an oak and clove finish. Fall spices are wonderfully balanced, and vanilla is the smooth topping. Surprisingly light mouthfeel. 8/10

NicP: there’s a lot happening here, and the pumpkin tastes a little artificial and candy-like. But it’s there. 3p

NicO: Y’all got a punchy pumpkin with extra Kentucky kick from the bourbon barrels. Full of clove, anise, fall spice, but not heavy. Smooth like a racehorse. California Chrome who? 89/100

AlexAA: Sweet caramel and vanilla mingle pleasantly to the nose from this clear orange ale 9/10

AlexTM: Allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon are smoothed over by the bourbon presence making a creamy, surprisingly light bodied 10% 8/10

AlexP: With the large texture of all the other flavors, the pumpkin comes thru lightly, but deliciously candied. 4P

AlexO: Slight oak keeps this creamy, pie-like ale balanced, but this girl wouldn’t mind if it had aged a leg longer in those bourbon barrels. 89/100
