Tommyknocker Brewery – Small Patch Pumpkin (2013)

13 Oct

NicAA: Treacle colored brew with little head, hearty molasses and light spice in the nose. Plum notes, sweet. 7/10

NicTM: Malty, thin, low carbonated beer, subtle spice. Cinnamon mostly. Molasses give sweetness and slight tomato flavor. 7/10

NicP: Pumpkin is fairly noticeable here, not jumping out but pretty present in the finish. A little watery though. 4p

NicO: Fine beer a bit on the watery malt side. Tommyknocker Elves aren’t leading me to gold, but it’s not dirt either. 77/100

AlexAA: deep, clear russet with a smoky molasses and cloves aroma 7/10

AlexTM: very light-bodied, sweet pumpkin, a dash of cinnamon, caramel and nuttiness to the malt, vanilla in the finish 7/10

AlexP: Though the sweet pumpkin holds it’s own in this thinnish ale, I don’t think it dressed it’s best for the occasion. 4P

AlexO: I think if either the malt was lighter, or the body was more substantial, that I’d grab a sixes of this, but every dial of flavor is one click askew. 73/100
