McAuslan Brewing – St Ambroise Citrouille (2013)

01 Oct

NicAA: Rust colored with lingering head. Sweet aroma of balanced spice and brown sugar, with hints of gourd. 9/10

NicTM: Medium body and carb. More bitter than the nose, the sweetness doesn’t come through and the spices are washy. 7/10

NicP: Not well showcased in the flavor, but good in the aroma. This weird disparity leaves the gourd bland in taste. 4p

NicO: Better than last year, needs more body. Aroma nails it, but that doesn’t flow into the fairly pedestrian flavor. 74/100

AlexAA: deep, clear russet with slight foam, heavy molasses on the nose with ginger and cinnamon, light pumpkin 7/10

AlexTM: sherry-like dryness in this light-bodied brew, cloves combine nicely w/ caramel malt for a smoothness that tapers to nothing 7/10

AlexP: Pumpkin is more apparent in the bouquet, but are overwhelmed in the body of the beer. 2P

AlexO: Lightness of beer vs. potent aroma makes me find it lacking in heft. Don’t talk the talk if you don’t put out. 68/100
