Long Trail Brewing Co. – Pumpkin Ale (2013)

07 Sep

NicAA: Burnt orange with little head and huge cinnamon hit. Vanilla and ginger warm up the nose, and some sweet pumpkin. 8/10

NicTM: Med body/carb. Unexpected bitter hop front, then sweet w. cinnamon /vanilla, rounds to dry hint of pumpkin finish. 8/10

NicP: Doesn’t taste like fresh pumpkin, it’s here in a puree-like smooth and one dimensional way. But still, it’s there. 3p

NicO: Hop profile doesn’t fit here, and balance is off. Promising, but like my spare room, its half complete project. 73/100

AlexAA: deep russet & fluffy head with a wave of cinnamon and pumpkin tumbling out of the glass, smoothed together with vanilla 8/10

AlexTM: as it warms, the malt & brown sugar is hearty, but ginger, cloves, vanilla mix a little unevenly, crisp finish 7/10

AlexP: pumpkin balances flavor in this medium body by not being lost in the confusing spices. 4P

AlexO: Session Pumpkin- it’s a standard, non-flashy pumpkin beer that hits enough sweet & spicy, just not excitingly. 73/100
