Watch City Brewing Company – Pie-Eyed Pumpkin (2012)

28 Aug

NicAA: very clear yellow amber with thin head and lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and very very faint pumpkin. Sweet malt in the nose. 6/10

NicTM: Thin with moderate carbonation. Sweet malt and sugary taste is backed up by a fair spice mix which is dominated by cinnamon. 6/10

NicP: This isn’t hugely pumpkiny, but then it isn’t hugely flavored at all. Could do with more pumpkin oompf and some more spice. 2 pumpkins

NicO: Light for a fall beer, pretty mild, easy drinker. Sadly an easy drinker in the pretty uninteresting way. Fair but not amazing 63/100

AlexAA: auburn-toned, slight head, cloves and cinnamon fill the air, with just a touch of ginger 7/10

AlexTM: not much spice, but there’s an edge to the hops that delights, caramel malt w/ a medium body of sweetness 7/10

AlexP: a tiny patch (if more than one) must have been used for all of the ale that was brewed 2/10

AlexO: Light amount of pumpkin w/ a light touch of spice – balanced, yes, but not leaving a memory. better in bottle than in brewery. 68/100
