Opa Opa Brewery and Steakhouse – Pumpkin Ale (2012)

28 Aug

NicAA: Hazy tea-colored and 1/3 inch frothy head, nice lacing. Strong pumpkin aroma and a little cinnamon and nutmeg spices. 8/10

NicTM: Thin, fairly watery and weak flavor. Pumpkin tastes raw and a little bitter, like orange rind. Spices barely present at all. 5/10

NicP: Smells like nice sweet pumpkin but the taste is of quite bitter, raw pumpkin. Over-carbonation isn’t helping at all here. 7 pumpkins

NicO: Sigh. Yet another “smells nice, tastes forgettable” pumpkin. But cheap at $4.50 is the best I can really say. Pumpkin water. 61/100

AlexAA: Slight haziness to this unfiltered orange on lighter end of spectrum, cinnamon + pumpkin dominant in the bitter smell 7/10

AlexTM: overly carbonated froth, very watered down – fresh raw pumpkin is there, but diluted, and there’s a slight cinnamon burn at end 3/10

AlexP: The debate against fresh, raw pumpkins are present here – they are fresh + bountiful, but now fill in the void of all the water 7/10

AlexO: If you can’t say something interesting then don’t brew. Average pmpkn ales are plentiful, why make a subpar watery, tasteless one? 36/100
