Heavy Seas Brewing – Mutiny Fleet The Great Pumpkin (2012)

28 Aug

NicAA: V cloudy orange, visibly very carbonated, thick orangey 1/3 inch head. Great nose of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and brown sugar. 9/10

NicTM: The pumpkin is in the flavor upfront, then the cinnamon and sugar, followed by the strong alcohol. Heavy, thick and warming. 8/10

NicP: Present and sweet, wrapped up warm for the winter in a big jacket of spice. This beer has a LOT going on. 4 pumpkins

NicO: Heavy Seas of generous and well mixed spice and pumpkin, this is a big warming wintery pumpkin. Would I buy this again? Arrrrr. 85/100

AlexAA: dense and thickly-tinted dark orange – almost murky with sediment. Smells of pumpkin with citrus tones and vanilla 8/10

AlexTM: sharp + bitter onset from hops + cloves, mellows into sweetness from pumpkins, cinnamon + nutmeg, bit of an alcohol taste inb/n 2 8/10

AlexP: The sweetest patch that I’ve come across in an ale – and allowed to taste “gourd-y” but sweet from brown sugar. 8/10

AlexO: Warms on way down – thick + earthy, a sweet edge to cut thru the loaf of bread. Hearty? YES. It shivers my timbers in a good way. 84/100
