Cape Ann Brewing – Fisherman’s Imperial Pumpkin Stout (2012)

28 Aug

AlexAA: deep, rich, nut-colored body with a light cream colored foam, espresso and roast to the aroma…yum! 8/10

AlexTM: Smooth, thick roasted malt, w/ less pumpkin presence than regular, chocolate finish but creamy w/ molasses, nutmeg, and cardamom 9/10

AlexP: Not really there, and yet, I don’t mind that it’s only essence of pumpkin in this deepened profile of spice, cream + malt 2/10

AlexO: Damn, I love a stout. Tho barely any pumpkin, I could drink this silky Imp. thru winter + reminisce abt my favorite bygone season. 94/100

NicAA: A deep rich coal pour with a ¼ inch light brown head. Toasted malt, very light spice, most prominent nutmeg. Slight coffee hint. 7/10

NicTM: Heavy and thick with moderate to light carb. Coats the mouth with rich chocolate and sugar, toasty malt and subtle spice. 9/10

NicP: This is pretty light on pumpkin, but it’s there, sweet, and dressed up all pretty in brown sugar. Which is all it needed. 2 pumpkins

NicO: A really delicious stout made all the better for the subtle but sweet pumpkin, spice and sugar. Bigger, bolder, brilliant. 94/100
