Boston Beer Works – Pumpkin Works (2012)

28 Aug

NicAA:  Clear, dull orange with no real head. Aroma is of light pumpkin, a little malt, and rather little else. No detectable spice. 5/10

NicTM: First taste, amazingly little. Watery, light, low carb. No complexity and little to no spice flavor. Like a dull low-cal beer. 5/10

NicP: I could be persuaded there’s a tiny bit in the aroma, but I can’t really taste any. The lack of spice is highlighting that. 1 pumpkin

NicO: Underwhelming. Barely qualifies in category. If you go to Beer Works, get Bluebeery instead. It has actual blueberries in it. 59/100

AlexAA: foamy head atop a burnished clear red, smells of cinnamon and LOTS of it. 8/10

AlexTM: taste doesn’t match breadth of aroma – shallow and tepid cinnamon taste, like watery Dentyne 3/10

AlexP: just barely, like shavings of pumpkins were used instead of whole 1/10

AlexO: not exciting + not even average, an attempt to have a seasonal just for the sake of it – I’d rather have a pumpkin in a glass 38/100
