Uinta Brewing – Punk’n Harvest Pumpkin Ale (2012)

27 Aug

NicAA: Massive, sinus-clearing cinnamon hit upfront like a newly opened pack of Big Red. Candy like. Pours a bright copper,¼ inch head. 8/10

NicTM: Pretty thin and not what I was expecting after the huge aroma. Really pretty subtle pumpkin taste and spice. Low carbonation. 5/10

NicP: Not so much. More noticeable in the smell than the taste.  But the overwhelming smell and taste is cinnamon for me. 2 pumpkins.

NicO: It’s not bad as a beer, but the pumpkin feels like an afterthought. Like eating a slice of pumpkin pie after chewing a Big Red. 69/100

AlexAA: deep amber jewel tone w/ 1/8 inch foam, very clear – heavy smell w/ a darkness, cloves and chocolate. 8/10

AlexTM: full-body of barley, cloves, light nutmeg – carbonation lifts the heaviness revealing a rawness to the pumpkin, chalky smack to it 8/10

AlexP: Pumpkin is quite roasty-toasty due to the malt, well-balanced w/ cloves but a very hardy effect. I feel like I’ve had my veggies! 7/10

AlexO: A chalkier pumpkin ale – treated as a side dish at a meal, not a dessert. Sits heavy but that’s swell when the air turns crisp. 81/100
