Long Trail Brewing Co. – Imperial Pumpkin Ale (Brewmaster Series) (2012)

27 Aug

Alex AA: cloudy almost, opaque quality to ale – yellow tint to the orange, sweetness to smell, like banana and malt 6/10

AlexTM: more bitter than aroma indicates, it leaves a hint of ginger, nutmeg + brown sugar in the mouth, but no trace of pumpkin to be had 5/10

AlexP: Hard to say if the bitterness of the increased malt is taking over the pumpkin, or if there’s just not enough pumpkin to my palate 2/10

AlexO: Thickness + texture of ale combined w/ ginger + bitter edge give it an almost medicinal effect – a “just get it down” feeling. 50/100

NicAA: Deep cloudy copper pour, with a thick orange foam head and good retention/lacing. Sweet aroma, nutty and spiced, mostly nutmeg. 9/10

NicTM: Way drier on first taste than I expected. Piney, bitter, earthy. Light spice. Alcohol taste is definitely there in the finish. 7/10

NicP: Pumpkin gets a bit lost for me in the maltiness and hops. It is there though. Sort of like a slightly burned pumpkin pie. 4 pumpkins

NicO: A solid fireplace beer, good winter warmer with high alcohol percentage. One of the cheaper bombers around, so a fair pick. 70/100
