Cisco Brewery – Pumple Drumkin Pumpkin Ale (2012)

27 Aug

NicAA: Pretty deep amber pour, ¼ inch head. Odd almost tomato smell first, followed by pumpkin and spice. Strong clove. AWESOME label. 6/10

NicTM: Pumpkin and spices are there up front, followed by strong bitterness of the hops. Piney and dry. Medium carbonation and body. 8/10

NicP: Definitely detectable pumpkin, but this is a pretty complex brew so it gets a little overshadowed after first taste. 5 Pumpkins

NicO: This beer is either your complicated and moody best friend, or the high maintenance friend no one invites to parties. Too much? 78/100

AlexAA: quarter inch of foam, deep reddened-amber, very faint pumpkin and nutmeg aroma 5/10

AlexTM: very carbonated w/ full bitter onset fleshed out by small bit of spice + LOTS of hops, more an autumn ale w/ a dash of pumpkin 7/10

AlexP: Some more pumpkin COULD be there, but I’m okay with the fact that the hops outweigh the pumpkin, as the spices are tertiary 2/10

AlexO: I enjoy this drink, as a sharpened, roasty beer, BUT it’s not so pumpkiny that I wouldn’t classify it elsewhere as an autumnal ale 72/100
