Brooklyn Brewery – Post Road Pumpkin (2012)

27 Aug

NicAA: Really gorgeous amber, nice orange-cream head, aroma is sweet, pumpkin-y and almost perfumed. Light on spice. Very different. 8/10

NicTM: Not strong on spices, and pretty carbonated. Pretty sweet, but in a vegetal way that is nicely balanced with the subtle spice. 7/10

NicP: Good, It is definitely present. This is one beer where the spice is in no danger of out-glitzing its pumpkin friend. 7 pumpkins

NicO: This is different to a lot of pumpkin beers I’ve tried. It’s subtle but not lacking. Actually a great late-summer pumpkin date. 85/100

Alex AA: Very light, lovely, clear amber tone with almost no head, and moderate carbonation, sweetened aroma w/ apparent cinnamon 7/10

Alex TM: bitter hoppy barley taste from the malt, caramel and nutmeg finish, very light-bodied 5/10

AlexP: rather small amount of pumpkin in the taste, more present in the aftertaste, but perhaps over-powered by the carbonation 3/10

Alex O: Too much contrast from 1st taste to finish – seems to feature the malt more than pumpkin leaving just spice thru the fizz 57/100
